Children Benefit

Research shows that children perform better when parents are engaged in education both at HOME and at SCHOOL. Parental involvement boosts student achievement. By joining the PTA, your child will see firsthand the importance you place on education. PTA is the largest child advocacy organization in the country and advocates for ALL children.

What does the PTA do?

  • Field trips
  • Class parties
  • Education materials for the classroom, including literary and math learning subscriptions for students
  • Day with an author
  • Family social events
  • Fun Run
  • Teacher Appreciation
  • Classroom Furniture/Equipment

 

How can I get involved?

  • Cost: Single Membership is $10.00 
  •  Meetings: second Tuesday of the month (some exceptions, will be noted on the Chapel Hill PTA Facebook group)
  • Sign Up: Chapel Hill PTA Membership (2024 - 25) 
  • Volunteer to lead or be on a committee

 
Can't make the meetings? No worries!!! There are many volunteer opportunities throughout the year.
 

Don't forget, you can still contribute to Chapel Hill's PTA doing your everyday shopping.

Position Descriptions

Committee Positions

  • PR Committee
    • Communicate with families about PTA and school wide events including fundraisers, kindergarten round-up, and back to school events
    • Act as admin in and participate in social media group
  • 5th Grade Coordinator
    • Organizes and oversees the 5th Grade Fundraiser
    • Organizes the t-shirt (design, signatures, orders and vendor)
    • Secures date of the event with principal
    • Reserves the skating rink and park
    • Works with the school secretary to secure the buses
    • Works with the principal to determine class gift and makes the purchases
  • Fall Round Up
    • Sets date (coordinate with principal and president, usually the Friday after Labor Day)
    • Organizes the publicity
    • Contracts for food
    • Coordinates volunteers
    • Coordinates donations
    • Plans games and activities
    • Handles set up and clean up
    • Secures PTA memberships and dues from parents and staff
  • Hospitality
    • Provides hospitality services for the following events:
      • Teacher Appreciation Week in May
      • American Education Week in November
      • End of Year Staff Luncheon
    • Coordinates volunteers to donate food and help with these events
  • Yearbook
    • Manage the order, design, production and distribution of school yearbook
